Hunan, in America our food is very boring … we basically eat pig, cow, and chicken. Dogs are only used as pets, and many Americans would be very angry at the idea of eating dog. So my mother was relieved that dog is usually eaten in the winter, because she didn’t want to try it!

    Thanks! I got it!
There are so many different food culture between America and China. In china, we eat many variety meats. like pig, cow, chichen, ducks, frog, tortoise …In muslim regions, they don’t eat pigs, they eat mutton. In the south west of china, Yunan province, they like to eat insects. as I know, Eat frog is illegal in china.
What the Local’s eat is connect with the local climate. Why the people like to eat dog, because Hunan is a cold and wet place in winter, in antient, the people want to get warm from eat dog.

I know that many people in China have little regard for the “law” (just look at traffic, prostitution, and corruption) … but there’s no way that eating frog is illegal. Almost every restaurant serves it!
