wdn Problems
It has come to my attention that something is wrong with this website. Recently, I often have had to reload a page several times to get it to display properly, and several people have emailed me saying that it doesn’t come up at all for them. Is it working ok for you?
I also got a message from Doteasy, my web host, saying that a script on my website is misbehaving. If you can make any sense of this, I’d appreciate your help … it appears that I may have to upgrade my version of WordPress, but I’m hesitant to do that (and honestly don’t have the time to do it properly right now). Help!

if i reload and try enough times, eventually it get in. i would guess i can get in about 30% of the time, regardless of browser or device i try.

Looking at the log file there, I think that the issue is a plugin. Are you using Spam Karma 2? wp_sk2_logs I believe is a database table for Spam Karma. You might see if there is a newer version of Spam Karma and just load that.
All the WordPress upgrades that I have done, and I have done quite a few, have all been pretty painless and rather quick. If you need help getting upgraded just let me know.

Thanks, guys. Yeah … Spam Karma has worked well so far, catching and hiding over 30,000 comment spams, but I think that the pure bulk of those has weighed down the databases behind this website.
I’ve spent all morning trying to clean up the spam and backup the website so I can upgrade both WordPress and Spam Karma. Unfortunately, however, I can’t seem to figure out how to delete the spam comments permanently, so everything is just to big and complicated.
Argh.

[…] I’ve successfully upgraded webeldotnet to WordPress 2.2.1. I don’t think I have the Spam Karma problem solved yet, but at least we’re online. Eventually you should start to see some small changes […]
