Lately
Things are finally starting to settle down for me. I feel like I’m getting into the groove at school … getting to know my students, implementing my curriculum, getting details nailed down for the 6th grade camp, reconnecting with my coworkers, and generally “getting the hang of things”.
For the last week, I’ve taken a break from house-hunting, mostly to get perspective and let things settle. I don’t want to make any rushed decisions, and I know that this market will probably stay stagnant for a while. But Saturday I’ll be hitting the road again, visiting a whole bunch of single and multi-family homes.
Today I had the chance to cheer on our middle school cross country team at the CCD Invitational. I’m not coaching this year, but I still love seeing those young men and women pursue their goals and just being a part of that atmosphere. How fun!
I also watched the Republican debates on Foxnews … quite interesting. It’s way too early for me to start making judgements and decisions about this sort of thing … but it seemed like Giuliani had great stage presence and a firm voice, Huckabee had a brown nose and some passion, McCain was the most genuine and down-to-earth, Paul was innovative and inspiring but marginalized, Romney was a mere puppet, and the rest were forgettable. Especially Thompson.
Ok, I’d better get to bed. Tomorrow is yet another day of poisoning feeding young minds!
