OK, so I didn't do my stupid "a href" thing correctly. (I wish you had a little plug in here that would auto-create external links.) Anyhow, here are the two stories:

Here are the latest two headlines from the leader of Iraq, who we are going to rely on to "self correct the excesses of their system."

But, I refuse to believe his "rhetoric." He's really such a nice guy after all. I choose to believe the "rhetoric" in that there video from YouTube instead.

(its all rhetoric...all of it.)

Hey, lay off Osama. He never invaded anybody. He is good buddy with Mad Dennyjad.

American foreign policy turns on a dime every four or eight years. Sometimes every two years, if el Presidente does not want to fight the Houses of Thieves. It is called will of the people.

Korea? America should get out of Korea. South Koreans dump too many things in American markets -- cars, computers, clothing. If America got out of Korea, then the oppressed South Koreans could share with their hungry North Korean brethren. It would also be good for Japanese carmakers.

America should get out of the Middle East and let the Peaceful Religionists annihilate each other. No worry about oil. Price of oil go up but soon after drop if America leave Saudi Arabia. Who they sell oil to? Rest of world need America to buy their junk so they can buy oil.

Maybe if they got hungry enough they could learn to farm the desert.

America should get out of Africa. Let the Africans handle their own tribal wars.

America should get out of South America. Let the drug kingpins take care of guys like Hugo Chavez. You think they wouldn't?

America should get out of Europe. Vlad the Putin would be happy to see America leave.

America should stop corrupting the rest of the world with its filthy foreign aid money. Presence of American money is root of all evil.

Except America should protect all chocolate producing countries. Willy Wong Ka needs to keep chocolate factory running. Vote for Obama is vote for chocolate? Ask mayor of New Orleans.

In the war against Hitler, the United States found common cause with Stalin. In the war against Japan, America aided Vietnamese rebel Ho Chi Minh. In Third World struggles, America helped Manuel Noriega and Saddam Hussein. And as Afghan rebels fought Soviet invaders during the 1980s, the United States gave aid from afar while Saudi exile Osama Bin Laden provided support from within Afghanistan.

We turn on a dime and take no responsibility for our actions or the consequences. And we think that our presence, in countries where we don't understand the people, culture, or history, is actually helping. Look at the difference between Korea (where we still have a military presence) and Vietnam (a now peaceful and beautiful country).

Truth is, our foreign policy sucks. And I'm not buying the rhetoric.

Crazy Americans. Believe all animals are like Bambi, kind and good and talk like saints. Look in mirror and think everybody in world looks like them, thinks like them, wants what they want. Last part maybe right -- want money.

Crazy Americans. World does not look like them, does not think like them, and wants them as slaves (good workers are hard to come by).

Crazy Americans. We let you sing Kumbaya in labor camp! First we bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb-bomb your car.

I agree, Osama was a model citizen who never hurt anybody, there really wasn't any reason to dispose of him. Who cares if he invaded his neighbor (Kuwait) absolutely unprovoked, resulting in a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people? And within Iran? What's so bad about using chemicals to painfully kill a few million Kurds??? I suppose we should have awarded him the Nobel Peace Prize for that, eh?

Yeah, we're pretty arrogant good guys for thinking Osama was a bad guy who needed to be dealt with.

Again, I'm not saying we should bomb-bomb-bomb. But if you look at history (ie, nobody put pressure on Hitler as he rose to power, eventually killing 6 million innocent Jewish people), sitting on the sidelines and not keep the pressure on Ahmadinejad will not result in a pretty outcome.

How would you feel if we totally withdrew from involvement in putting political pressure on Iran, and a few years later they had the bomb, and nuked Israel? Because that is what their leader has openly stated he wants to do. (Remember, he is such a good guy, compared to us arrogant Americans.)

To take it a step further, how would you feel if we just totally withdrew from the Middle East and allowed Ahmadinejad to team up with Al Qaeda to smuggle one of his nukes into the U.S. to bomb the evil empire - say - in downtown Cincinnati? Believe me, both of those groups would find immense pleasure in such an accomplishment. It'd be pretty tough to sing kumbaya when you've been blown to smithereens...

I'm with you, I'd rather sing kumbaya, but thats what America did as Hitler rose to power. We all sat around and sang kumbaya, and 6 million people paid the ultimate price. Sometimes its not about what you'd rather do. Its about what you should do.

OK, maybe that last sentence was a little harsh. But still...

I'm not saying I'm ready to have us invade Iran, but at the same time I see plenty of folly in believing there is any chance that sitting around a campfire singing kumbaya with Mr. Ahmadinejad will suddenly make us all friends.
