Quote of the Day
“If you want to be free to serve Jesus, there’s no question — stay single. Marriage takes a lot of time. But if you want to become more like Jesus, I can’t imagine any better thing to do than to get married. Being married forces you to face some character issues you’d never have to face otherwise.”
– Gary Thomas, Sacred Marriage

This is called “Checkmate”

Why’s that, Paul? Because it’s like a checks-and-balances system with your mate (that’s my optimistic guess)?

When you get married, you suddenly discover just how selfish and self-centered you really are. Suddenly having to consider someone else when making EVERY decision in your life can be stressful and will bring out any character ‘flaws’ that might be lurking under the surface.

That’s a great book, by the way~!
Nothing has refined me more than marriage. Of course God can use anything to mold us into the image of His Son, but thus far He has used my marriage more than anything else in my life.
