To my brothers and sisters in Christ…If there was a time a sister needed her church to surround her in prayer, this is the time. Many of you may not even know me, but I am asking you to join with me in lifting nine families up to God.
My name is Katherine Baker, I am a student at Taylor University. On last Wed. evening a semi plunged into a van of 5 students and 4 Taylor staff. 4 students and 1 staff are now in the presence of our King. The others are in the hospital, two of which are in critical condition.
One of the students that died was my good friend Laurel. There is so much pain and hurt and confusion on this campus. As a Resident Assistant (RA) the task ahead of me in the remainder 3 weeks of school are hard. I am in the grieving process yet many of my friends and ladies on my floor are too. I need strength, comfort, and a peace that transcends all understanding.
Most of all though I plead that you will pray for the five families that lost their loved one. And the four others in bad condition. Also please lift up the driver of the semi (27 year old Richard), he is in the hospital, but in fair condition. I hurt for this man.
If you want to know more go here.
Thank you in advance for your support. God is in control of this evil world. I praise HIM for who He is.
He gives and takes away … Still (help) my heart to choose to say, Lord blessed be your name.

Kat,
I’m not quite sure you would remember me, but I was in your cabin a few years ago, I think you were with leslie too? (if this is the right kat lol) This year I’m actually going to be working there as a JC… but, I just wanted to let you know that you and your hall are in my prayers. Grieving my be a long process but I’m praying God will lay peace over everyone involved and that you and others can soon rejoice in where the students are, and the saftey of the ones still here.
God will give you strength, endurance, and hope through out this, and especially the ability to help others…
Like I said, you’re in my prayers love, hope to see you this summer.

Thanks Morgan….
Of course I remember you. I am very glad to hear that you are going to be at PVM. There are many fond memories there for me indeed…it is a special place. Your verses you gave me are so comforting. Yes this is a dark time I am now facing. It is hard to sometimes get up and go on with the day. But God is here, helping me thorough the good and bad. He will hold me and sing over me when no one can.
Your words were good to hear and were very supportive. I know the families would love continual prayers…for these next months will be the hardest.
Thanks again…
