A Three Hour Tour
I’ve been here in Loudi for one week. I still don’t have Internet. Or phone. Or gas (for the stove). Or a cell phone. Or a schedule, or textbooks. Or ELECTRICITY (it was out when I woke up this morning).
I also don’t have my residence permit, my Foreign Expert Visa. My liaison left for Changsha several days ago to get it, but I still haven’t heard back from her … and I don’t get it by tomorrow, I could be deported!
I’m starting to feel like Gilligan. If only the Professor was here …

Organized. That’s pretty funny. Yeah, to be honest, I’m not worried. Things tend to come together here at the last minute … it’s just the way of things.
In fact, as I type, there are hundreds of students and adults at my school cleaning and fixing everything, at the last minute, before school starts. It looked like a dump last night, and I have no doubt that it’ll look awesome before the first day!

yep, it sure is the way of things.
My team this summer had a lot of trouble getting train tickets yinchuan-beijing for 15 people together- and we made the deadline by less than 1/2 hour to buy them in time!
Sounds like you’re having a good orientation.

Are you still keeping things clean like mom?

Relax, lance. Don’t worry about this. No one will get deported in China. Actually, no one will check it.
One problem of China is it seems so many people are responsible for one thing but you cannot find anyone to do it. Push those people hard!
