Hilarious! Good luck with that … send me an email when you decide to cut off a couple of zeros.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. They grab the domain name and do nothing with it, hoping somebody needs it. I hope they enjoy having their money rot as you guys come up with alternatives like webel_engineering.com or webel_engineering.us or wwwebels.net or something. There’s more than one way to skin a polecat.

Hahaha. Yup. I had that happen to me with wiseacre.com. Its not even being used and the guy wants $5000. My reaction was exactly like yours (”How’s that workin for ya?”). Ridiculous.

When I requested information, it was 50,000! At one point, they were willing to sell it for 500, but that was too much for me.

How about free? That would work for me.

At one point lance.com was also “available” for an exhorbitant amount of money. And now the Lance Cracker Company owns it … so I guess that it worked out pretty well for them.
My guess is that these other squatters are hoping that these guys will get hungry enough to bite. But I’ve been following Webel India for a while and I’m certain that they’re content with their current domain name. As a result, we’ve got another virtual ugly empty lot in the neighborhood gathering old rusty cars and lawn mower parts. And I don’t have any intention of making money with my website, so my little old .net is perfect!
