Dad and mom are here, safe and sound!
We’re going to take it easy tonight … we’ll go for a nice dinner at a western restaurant to talk over our plans for the next four or five days. Then we’ll buy some shoes for mom and head back to our hostel to maybe take in a movie or something relaxed before an early bedtime.

Been checking your blog all morning…so glad to hear they are safely arrived. The hostel looks nice and simple…not too rustic. What kind of shoes are you buying? Praying for you all every day, especially for health and safety.

Dad and mom both brought sandals, thinking that they would be all-weather. I’m not sure what they were thinking either … but we’re working around it. Mom found some nice $15 knockoff walking shoes, and dad’s gonna borrow my running shoes tomorrow when we visit the Great Wall!
