Dude ... he took my idea. What's left?

Well, Hello There!

Hey guys ... as I mentioned, I'm in the middle of summer camp season, so my online presence is pretty minimal right now. In fact, I'm at the public library and I only have 10 minutes left in my session, so I'll make this quick.

Personally, I'm doing very well. As I mentioned before, the spring was absolutely crazy ... a little too busy and full of responsibility ... but God blessed every moment of it. The last few weeks with my graduating 8th graders were particularly delightful, and necessary closure occured on several chapters in my life.

The transition to camp life was much harder than I expected ... my body wanted rest and my soul wanted solitude, but for several weeks I was surrounded by the frantic "college lifestyle" 24/7 while trying to get a pretty robust multimedia program (producing weekly DVD's and daily online photos) going at PVM. I didn't respond as graciously as I would have hoped, but after Day Camp (week 3) I think my body and soul finally caught up. Last week was wonderful, enjoying the presence of the campers and seeing the amazing gifts of this summer's staff in action.

The next few weeks look great as well ... 5 more weeks of camp, sprinkled with various fun things (digital photography camp, king's island, etc). In August I'll have a couple weeks off before cross country (and then school) starts, so I'll be using the time to hunt for and purchase a new home. I'll also be redesigning my curriculum once again and exploring the possibility of pursuing a master's degree. Good stuff.

Thanks to those of you who have been stopping by to check in ... your words of encouragement (here and in person) have been so necessary and appreciated these last few weeks! If you're of the praying type, I have a simple request ... please pray for my ability to show compassion and gratitude, both to campers and counselors. Thanks, and I'll probably post again in the next couple of weeks. :)
